Moving Beyond Diversity: Introduction to Systemic Racism
Saturday, June 10, 1 – 8 pm

What is systemic racism? How is non-racism different from anti-racism? How did race get constructed in the US? How does this apply to our communities and organizations?

Oak Park Temple is a co-sponsor of a workshop designed for people of ALL races and faiths to learn more about how racism is embedded everywhere in today’s world. Focusing on your involvement with racism in today’s world–unintentional, intentional, and/or internalized–this one-day workshop led by Chicago Regional Organizing for Racism (CROAR) answers these questions and more, while fostering open honest discussion in a safe and respectful atmosphere. You will leave with a common understanding of systemic racism in addition to a different approach and some beginning tools in dismantling the system.

Cost: $60 adults, $25 students, includes dinner. This workshop is hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Oak Park.
