Welcome to Oak Park Temple on the Web

Saturday, July 31 - 10:00 am Nature Shabbat service at the Wolf Road Prairie
Rabbi Weiss and guitarist/songleader Beth Sivak will lead us in our lovely annual service held at the Wolf Road Prairie. Nature-lovers, come celebrate Shabbat among the wildflowers and butterflies. We will meet at the Prairie House at 11225 Constitution Drive, just west of Wolf Road and north of 31st Street. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy on the porch after the service, and wear long pants, comfortable shoes and a hat for our guided walk through the prairie.GLASSER PRESCHOOL EARNS NATIONAL NAEYC ACCREDITATION

Jewish population study to help in long-term planning
The 2010 edition of the Chicago-area Jewish Population Study has begun. The studies, conducted every 10 years, provide both a snapshot and a roadmap for the Jewish community, telling us who we are, where we are, and where we’re headed.
A private research firm conducts the study by calling thousands of households throughout the Chicago area. Calls have begun and will continue for several months. All responses are completely confidential, and no personally identifiable details are linked to the answers. The stronger the response, the more reliable the information. So if you are called, please take the few minutes needed to participate. And spread the word so your friends, neighbors and colleagues know about this important study. Contact the Community Survey Hotline at (312) 357-4545 or get more information by e-mailing PopulationStudy@juf.org or on the web www.juf.org/population.
In response to the massive earthquake in Haiti, AJWS has created the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund to support its network of grantees as they address the urgent needs of the affected population.
With a per capita income of $3.60 per day, Haiti is the most impoverished country in the Western Hemisphere. Thus, its population is especially vulnerable to natural disasters, such as Tuesday’s earthquake.
Other Israeli organizations that are offering Aid include: The Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid, and Magen David Adom in Israel.
